Hitachi Energy Chile S.A. is seeking a seasoned engineer to design distribution automation solutions for digital grids in the LATAM region. You will work with sales, engineering, and customers to translate requirements into technical proposals and lead proof-of-concept activities.

The role emphasizes hands-on design, technical leadership, and collaboration with global teams, with travel up to 20% within the region. English fluency is required.

Formación

• Engineering degree required.
• 5–10 years of experience in distribution networks or automation.
• Experience with protection relays, RTUs, wireless, or SCADA systems.
• Knowledge of IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus, IEC 104.
• Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
• Fluent in English.

The opportunity Join our Grid Automation business and help shape the future of energy distribution. You will be part of a global team that delivers advanced solutions to improve the reliability and efficiency of power grids. In this role, you will support the design and development of Distribution Automation solutions. You will work closely with sales, engineering, and customers across the LAM region. You will apply your technical expertise to create innovative solutions using technologies such as IEDs, RTUs, wireless systems, and SCADA. This is a unique opportunity to combine technical leadership, customer engagement, and innovation while contributing to a more sustainable energy future.

Your background

• You hold a degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• You have 5-10 years of experience in distribution networks or automation.
• You have experience with protection relays, RTUs, wireless, or SCADA systems.
• You understand protocols such as IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus, or IEC 104.
• You have experience designing integrated automation solutions.
• You demonstrate strong communication and customer-facing skills.
• You are fluent in English.
• You are available to travel up to 20% within the LAM region.
