Hitachi Energy in Santiago, Chile is seeking a skilled engineer to design and implement innovative distribution automation solutions. You will collaborate with a global team to enhance energy distribution efficiency and reliability.

Ideal candidates will possess a degree in Electrical Engineering and 5–10 years of relevant experience in distribution networks, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards while delivering customer-oriented solutions.

Formación

• 5–10 years of experience in distribution networks or automation.
• Experience with protocols such as IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus, or IEC 104.
• Experience designing integrated automation solutions.

The opportunity

Join our Grid Automation business and help shape the future of energy distribution. You will be part of a global team that delivers advanced solutions to improve the reliability and efficiency of power grids. In this role, you will support the design and development of Distribution Automation solutions. You will work closely with sales, engineering, and customers across the LAM region. You will apply your technical expertise to create innovative solutions using technologies such as IEDs, RTUs, wireless systems, and SCADA. This is a unique opportunity to combine technical leadership, customer engagement, and innovation while contributing to a more sustainable energy future.

Your background

• You hold a degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• You have 5–10 years of experience in distribution networks or automation.
• You have experience with protection relays, RTUs, wireless, or SCADA systems.
• You understand protocols such as IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus, or IEC 104.
• You have experience designing integrated automation solutions.
• You demonstrate strong communication and customer‑facing skills.
• You are fluent in English.
• You are available to travel up to 20% within the LAM region.
• You are responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.
