EPAM Systems seeks a Lead Scala/Java Developer to drive architecture, design, and development of high-performance, scalable software. You will lead microservice development, solution design, and production support while collaborating with business and technology partners.

The ideal candidate has extensive Java/Scala/Kotlin experience, strong background in distributed systems, cloud (AWS), CI/CD, and robust telemetry/monitoring.

Formación

• 5+ years of professional industry experience with software development.
• 3+ years of software engineering and design at high volume or large scale.
• 5+ years of software development experience in Java, Scala, Kotlin, and REST API/Backend Services.
• 3+ years of experience with large-scale distributed systems and multi-tier architectures.
• 2+ years of experience developing and operating services in one or more major cloud providers, such as AWS.
• Experience with databases such as Cassandra, DynamoDB, and PostgreSQL.
• Experience with message-driven architecture and development.
• Expertise in CI/CD automation, infrastructure ownership, monitoring, and alerting configuration.
• Showcase of debugging and optimizing code and automating routine tasks.
• Experience implementing and managing high-capacity, redundant, and mission-critical environments.
• Experience running and maintaining a 24x7 production environment.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field preferred
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.

• Establish cross-functional, collaborative relationships with business and technology partners.
• Communicate complex ideas and concepts to non-technical peers and customers.
• Manage and partner effectively with technology vendors to deliver against business objectives.
• Implement all technologies in accordance with Information Security's guiding principles for highly sensitive data.
• Provide high-availability operational support and automate solutions across the environment.
• Implement deep telemetry capabilities to provide ongoing success and performance metrics.
• Implement service monitoring across all platforms to ensure continuous availability and operational continuity of critical systems.
• Uphold company policies and legal/regulatory requirements.
• Implement and maintain system configurations and baselines to support secure application development software control best practices and standards.
