Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Software Engineer – Storage based in Switzerland. This role involves building a high-performance object storage platform, spanning client libraries to storage servers and edge infrastructure.

You will work in a globally distributed, open-source–focused environment, enhancing APIs, tooling, and storage workflows while improving upload/download reliability and performance for millions of users.

Qualifications

• 5+ years backend engineering experience in production
• Experience designing and operating scalable distributed systems
• Familiarity with observability tools and monitoring
• Strong PostgreSQL production experience and tuning
• Ownership mindset to drive projects independently
• Commitment to developer experience and reliable tooling
• Ability to collaborate in a fast-paced, distributed team environment

Responsibilities

• Enhance storage capabilities and support analytics formats like Apache Iceberg
• Optimize asset delivery for high performance
• Expand edge infrastructure and cache invalidation
• Improve storage server performance and observability
• Build a fast, intuitive storage explorer with frontend teams
• Improve APIs, client libraries, and CLI tooling
• Strengthen upload/download reliability across clients
• Contribute to open-source storage components and upstreams
• Resolve escalated issues and implement systemic improvements
• Contribute across backend, deployment, monitoring, and operations
• Own engineering initiatives from problem definition to delivery
