Job summary

Jobgether, in Switzerland, is seeking a Staff Software Engineer – Platform to define the long-term technical vision for a large-scale, event-driven streaming platform powering real-time financial services. The role centers on Go and Redpanda, owning architecture from event backbone to client libraries, and guiding multiple teams toward modern, event-driven design.

You will champion authentication, developer experience, and AI-native initiatives, while mentoring senior engineers in a globally

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong Kafka/Redpanda expertise including partitioning and delivery guarantees.
• Experience delivering real-time data via WebSockets, SSE, or gRPC streaming.
• Proficiency in Go, or ability to learn quickly in Go.
• Experience building shared libraries with API stability and versioning.
• PostgreSQL knowledge and relational DB concepts.

Responsibilities

• Own platform architecture and 2–3 year roadmap for the streaming platform.
• Lead transition to event-driven architecture across teams.
• Define engineering standards for schemas, topics, and versioning.
• Design scalable streaming infrastructure supporting high-volume connections.
• Mentor engineers and lead cross-team initiatives.
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident leadership.
