Jobgether, on behalf of a partner company, is seeking a Data API Engineer based in Switzerland to help enhance a PostgreSQL-powered Data API used by developers worldwide. You'll work on PostgREST, PostgreSQL connectivity, and multi-tenant scalability while contributing to open-source projects.

You will collaborate with a globally distributed team, investigate performance bottlenecks, and strengthen observability to improve reliability.

Qualifications

• 3+ years professional experience with Haskell.
• Experience with C and systems programming.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and PostgreSQL; PL/pgSQL experience is a plus.
• Experience debugging in Linux environments; ability to root-cause issues.
• Track record contributing to open-source projects.
• Ability to communicate with users of varying technical levels.

Responsibilities

• Improve database connectivity: optimize the PostgreSQL driver built on Hasql.
• Develop Data API capabilities and add new features.
• Enhance reliability and performance of the API service.
• Strengthen observability and monitoring for easier issue diagnosis.
• Handle incidents and escalated support requests.
• Collaborate across engineering teams on integration challenges.
• Support developers and users with clear guidance and solutions.
• Contribute to open-source projects and tooling.
• Drive continuous improvement of code quality and architecture.
