Jobgether is partnering with a forward-thinking team to hire a Staff Backend Engineer, Operations in Switzerland. You will design and deliver scalable backend systems and production-grade LLM-powered workflows, processing vast unstructured data to support high-stakes insurance decisions.

You will own major initiatives and drive architectural decisions across product and engineering teams. Requirements include 8+ years in backend engineering, hands-on LLM experience, strong Python skills, and

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience building and operating backend systems at scale.
• Led at least one significant project as technical lead.
• Hands-on experience deploying LLMs in production.
• Strong Python proficiency; other OO languages welcome.
• Experience with AWS and serverless tech (Lambda, Step Functions).
• Relational databases, PostgreSQL, and performance optimization.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of major backend initiatives using Python and AWS.
• Define direction for large-scale LLM systems balancing reliability and cost.
• Drive architecture decisions across the product.
• Deliver product improvements and scope new features.
• Manage technical debt strategically.
• Collaborate with product and business stakeholders to guide decisions.
• Promote best practices in development, testing, deployment, and code review.
• Mentor colleagues and assist in recruiting.
