Job summary

Roche is seeking an experienced Lab Associate with a focus on molecular biology and RNA biology to join the Nucleic-acid-based medicines team in Basel. You will support screening of oligonucleotide-based therapeutics and help develop RNA technologies by setting up and executing diverse molecular biology assays.

Key tasks include cell-based screening, RNA sample handling, qPCR and digital PCR, and preparation of tissue samples from animal studies.

Qualifications

• B.Sc in molecular biology or related field with 10+ years in drug discovery or an M.Sc with 5+ years.
• Experience with therapeutic oligonucleotides and in vitro characterization.
• Hands-on wet-lab experience with molecular biology and RNA biology techniques.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.

Responsibilities

• Develop cell-based screening assays and perform cell culture maintenance.
• Implement lab automation for high throughput screening of oligonucleotides.
• Purify and handle RNA samples for downstream analyses.
• Perform digital PCR and qPCR to support portfolio projects.
• Prepare tissue samples from animal studies for molecular analyses.
• Assist in transcriptome profiling (DRUG-Seq, BRB-Seq, RNA-Seq).
