Job summary

Roche seeks a (Senior) ML Scientist for AI Biology & Translation (AIBT) to lead sequence design using state-of-the-art ML. You will design, train, and refine models that accelerate nucleic acid-based medicines, collaborating with wet-lab teams on therapeutic constraints and portfolio projects.

You will present results to stakeholders, stay abreast of advances in sequence modeling, and contribute to publications as part of a multi-disciplinary effort across Genentech & Roche.

Qualifications

• PhD in a quantitative discipline with 0-4 years post-doctoral or industry experience
• Publications in top-tier journals or ML conferences
• Strong Python programming and PyTorch proficiency

Responsibilities

• Build, train, and fine-tune ML algorithms for nucleic acid medicines
• Design candidate sequence libraries for lab-in-the-loop optimization
• Collaborate with wet-lab scientists and project leads on constraints and designs
• Present findings and model performance to cross-functional teams
• Stay current with sequence modeling and nucleic acid therapeutics developments
• Contribute to scientific publications
