Job summary

Modern Machining Solutions Inc in Berne, IN is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Tech to optimize production, improve safety and quality on the shop floor. You will conduct time studies, build labor standards, and design workstation layouts using CAD drawings.

You will also implement kanban systems, create operator work instructions, and help with cost analysis, root-cause problem solving, and process testing to boost throughput and reliability.

Qualifications

• Degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering (Associate or Bachelor’s) or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency with CAD software and Microsoft Office.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with Power BI, SQL, or basic coding is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Optimize Production: Conduct time studies, build Bills of Labor, and set labor rates.
• Design & Layout: Create CAD drawings for workstations, plant layouts, and material flow systems.
• Drive Efficiency: Build kanban systems, write clear operator work instructions, and automate processes to improve safety and throughput.
• Analyze & Improve: Perform cost analysis, root-cause problem solving, and material/equipment testing.
