DB&L Services SA in Ticino, Switzerland, seeks a senior banking manager to lead a strategic function in the payments area. The role combines people leadership, banking functional expertise, application ownership, project management and operational oversight.

For a Swiss financial institution, we are looking for a senior banking manager to take responsibility for a strategic function in the payments traffic area. The position combines people leadership, banking functional expertise, application ownership, project management and operational oversight. The role offers a broad scope, high internal visibility and a perspective of future evolution.

The Mission

The selected person will lead the team and act as a reference point for the continuity and evolution of payment processes. They will need to combine vision and operational execution, develop people, govern projects and suppliers, and take direct ownership in critical situations, while maintaining credible interaction with IT, Operations, Compliance, Risk and management.

Main Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the team, defining priorities, capacity, workloads and responsibilities.
• Coordinate daily activities, ensuring clarity of objectives, service quality and compliance with SLAs.
• Manage end-to-end projects within the area: requirements, functional analysis, solution definition, suppliers, UAT, release, go-live and stabilisation.
• Oversee second-level support, incidents, escalations and time-critical operational issues.
• Guarantee the quality and continuity of payment flows, with particular reference to SEPA, SWIFT, SIC/euroSIC and ISO 20022.
• Support regulatory requirements and controls, including AML, operational compliance and audits.
• Oversee configurations, parameters, flows and interfaces between applications, core banking and service providers.
• Coordinate external suppliers and internal stakeholders across IT, Operations, Compliance, Risk and management.
• Foster the development of team skills and continuous process improvement.
• Contribute, over time, to expanding the scope of the function towards securities traffic.

Ideal Profile

Several years of solid managerial experience in banking, ideally in payments operations or a directly comparable function. Proven responsibility in managing people and teams, with experience in priorities, performance, development and complex situations.

In-depth knowledge of Swiss and international banking payment processes and related operational dynamics.

Experience in managing IT/banking projects, regulatory changes, releases, incidents and escalations.

Ability to combine strategic vision and operational responsibility, intervening directly when the situation requires it.

Knowledge of SEPA, SWIFT, ISO 20022 and, ideally, SIC/euroSIC.

Experience in the Swiss banking sector and with core banking/payment applications is strongly preferred.

Experience in managing vendors, service providers and heterogeneous stakeholders.

Language Skills

• Italian: native level.
• English: C1 level.
• German and/or French: a plus.
