Job summary

Valtech seeks a Senior Cloud/DevOps Engineer for a freelance engagement to support one of our clients. You will co-own the development and operation of the client’s cloud platform (GCP, Azure) and drive cloud architecture decisions.

You will advance DevOps tooling such as GitLab CI pipelines, ArgoCD, Terraform/OpenTofu, Datadog, SonarQube, Kubernetes (GKE), enabling and supporting software teams to use the platform effectively.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Several years of DevOps/Platform engineering in a cloud environment.
• Hands-on Kubernetes, ArgoCD, and IaC tools (Terraform/OpenTofu).
• Hands-on experience with cloud-native technologies across GCP.
• Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Co-own the development and operation of the client’s cloud platform (GCP, Azure).
• Advance the DevOps tooling: GitLab CI pipelines, ArgoCD, Apigee API Gateway, Backstage, Terraform/OpenTofu, Datadog, SonarQube, Python scripts, Keycloak.
• Act as go-to expert for Kubernetes (GKE).
• Drive and contribute to architecture decisions for the cloud platform.
• Enable and support software development teams in using the cloud platform and DevOps tooling.
