Job summary

Valtech seeks a Senior Cloud/DevOps Engineer for a freelance engagement to support one of our clients. You will co-own the development and operation of the client’s cloud platform (GCP, Azure) and drive cloud architecture decisions.

You will advance DevOps tooling such as GitLab CI pipelines, ArgoCD, Terraform/OpenTofu, Datadog, SonarQube, Kubernetes (GKE), enabling and supporting software teams to use the platform effectively.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Several years of DevOps/Platform engineering in a cloud environment.
• Hands-on Kubernetes, ArgoCD, and IaC tools (Terraform/OpenTofu).
• Hands-on experience with cloud-native technologies across GCP.
• Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken.

• Enable and support software development teams in using the cloud platform and DevOps tooling

Must have qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications:

• Completed degree in Computer Science or related field
• Several years of experience as a DevOps/Platform Engineer in a cloud environment
• Strong hands-on expertise in Kubernetes, ArgoCD, and IaC tools (Terraform/OpenTofu)
• Hands-on experience with cloud-native technologies across GCP
• Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Kafka (Confluent Cloud)
• Experience with GitLab CI pipelines and OAuth 2.0

Nice to have qualifications

• Experience with Backstage or React
• Experience with Datadog and SonarQube
• Experience with Keycloak
• Experience with Java Spring Boot or Kotlin
