Job summary

Agilent Technologies in Basel is seeking a Field Service Engineer (m/f/d) near Basel, with Molecular Spectroscopy expertise (UV-Vis, UV-Vis-NIR, FTIR, Raman). Recent graduates are welcome. You will install, configure, and maintain spectroscopy systems, travel to customer sites, and train customers and staff.

You will collaborate with Support, Sales, Marketing and R&D to resolve issues, maintain safety/compliance, and provide high-quality customer service across multi-vendor environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a scientific discipline with a focus on molecular spectroscopy (UV-Vis, UV-Vis-NIR, FTIR or Raman) or related analytical techniques.
• Suitable for recent graduates; internships or hands-on coursework in molecular spectroscopy are beneficial.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Strong proficiency in German and English; knowledge of French is a plus.
• Experience in a laboratory environment or with Agilent products is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site customer support for installation, maintenance, and repair of Agilent systems with a focus on molecular spectroscopy.
• Configure, troubleshoot, and optimize system components at customer sites; address hardware, software, and network issues.
• Deliver technical training and knowledge transfer to field engineers and customers; collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues.
• Maintain compliance with credentialing requirements and safety standards; travel up to 75%.
• Support ongoing customer satisfaction and enable successful instrumentation deployment.
