Job summary

LimmaTech Biologics AG, a Swiss biopharmaceutical company, seeks a CMC-Development Associate, DSP (100%) to advance robust and scalable purification processes for vaccine development. Work in Schlieren near Zürich, contributing to DSP experiments and technology transfer under supervision.

You will operate sophisticated lab equipment (FPLC, TFF, filtration) and document results, collaborating across teams to ensure quality and compliance in process development.

Qualifications

• A Technician qualification, BSc, or MSc in biotechnology, bioprocess engineering, food technology, or a related discipline.
• Hands‑on experience in protein purification, including chromatography/FPLC and filtration technologies such as TFF.
• A strong technical aptitude and enthusiasm for working with sophisticated laboratory and process equipment.
• Practical knowledge of biochemical and analytical methods, such as SDS‑PAGE, Western blotting, HPLC, and UV-based measurements.
• Knowledge of or experience with Design of Experiments (DoE) approaches is an advantage.
• A structured, reliable, and solution‑oriented working style, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English; additional languages are an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, perform, and document DSP operations and experiments in accordance with established plans, timelines, and project priorities.
• Develop robust and scalable purification processes suitable for subsequent GMP manufacturing under the guidance of experienced team members, using state-of-the-art equipment such as FPLC systems, microfiltration, depth filtration, and tangential flow filtration (TFF) systems.
• Establish and execute experimental strategies to investigate chromatography methods and resins, filtration technologies, and critical process parameters, with the aim of identifying optimal purification conditions for novel products.
• Establish & perform in-process controls (IPC) to characterize process intermediates and purified material to support process development and monitor purification performance.
• Evaluate and interpret experimental data and communicate results and conclusions in scientific meetings, presentations, and technical reports.
• Support technology transfer activities to contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs) throughout different stages of development.
• Help ensure that laboratories and equipment are maintained in a clean, safe, and fully operational condition in accordance with applicable safety and operational standards.
