Job summary

LimmaTech Biologics AG in Schlieren near Zürich is seeking a Research Associate / Research Scientist (100%) to advance vaccine development through recombinant protein expression, purification, and molecular engineering. The role focuses on expressing vaccine candidates, purifying them, and analyzing their properties.

You will contribute to establishing robust expression, purification workflows, and collaboration across the Research team to meet project goals.

Qualifications

• MSc degree in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Molecular Microbiology, or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience with heterologous protein expression systems and analytical biochemistry.
• Proven experience with protein purification using HPLC/FPLC systems (e.g. NGC, ÄKTA) and TFF.

Responsibilities

• Conduct, analyze, and plan experiments in accordance with established plans, timelines, and project priorities.
• Establish and perform testing and screening procedures to support robust expression of recombinant vaccine candidates.
• Purify vaccine candidates from heterologous expression systems and characterize them using immunological, biochemical, and analytical methods.
• Engineer E. coli expression strains using molecular cloning and genomic engineering.
• Contribute to development and optimization of protein expression, purification, and characterization workflows for vaccine research.
• Maintain laboratories and equipment in a clean, safe, and fully operational condition.
• Identify and provide solutions to technical and scientific challenges arising during research activities.
• Collaborate with colleagues within and outside the Research team to support project objectives.
