Job summary

Mandarin Oriental, Geneva, invites applications for an Assistant Restaurant Manager in the Ottolenghi department. Based at Mandarin Oriental, Geneva, you will assist the Restaurant Manager in delivering exceptional service, overseeing a twenty-strong team, and ensuring HACCP hygiene standards are met.

Fluent in English and French, you thrive in a luxury hotel environment and are committed to guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• A passion for service and attention to detail.
• Previous management and service experience in a luxury hotel or fine dining environment preferred.
• Team spirit, curiosity, and a desire to learn and grow.
• Good communications skills and a flexible attitude.
• Fluency in English and French, another European language is a plus.
• A valid Swiss work permit or EU passport.

Responsibilities

• Participate in development of schedules based on planned activity.
• Have the necessary knowledge and skills of the Infrasis POS, be able to train/assist servers in the use of the system and apply the necessary controls.
• Assist subordinates in service.
• Ensure customer satisfaction by visiting them during their meal.
• Forward customer comments on food and service to the Restaurant Manager and Chef Ottolenghi
• Respond to specific customer requests as necessary
• Handle customer complaints and comments
• Demonstrate interpersonal skills to build customer loyalty
• Adhere to and apply the Mandarin Oriental principles set out in ‘Our Commitments’

About the Job

Based at Mandarin Oriental, Geneva, within theOttolenghi Department, theAssistantRestaurant Manageris responsible for assisting the Restaurant Manager in the management of the restaurant, ensuring the smooth running of the service and customer satisfaction for all services provided, in accordance with quality standards, HACCP hygiene standards, and procedures in force within the hotel, and supervising a team of around twenty employees.
