Virtual sagl is seeking a Senior System Administrator to manage and evolve the company’s Windows Server-based infrastructure. The role focuses on identity management, virtualization, backup, and secure, reliable operations across physical and virtual environments.

You will work on AD, VMware, storage, DR planning, and infrastructure automation, ensuring uptime and scalable performance while documenting procedures and collaborating with IT colleagues.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of experience as System/Infrastructure Administrator.
• Strong Windows Server experience with AD, DNS, DHCP.
• VMware vSphere/ESXi administration and lifecycle management.
• Experience with backup and disaster recovery (Veeam).
• PowerShell scripting experience.
• Knowledge of Microsoft 365 and hybrid identity (Azure AD).
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Senior System Administrator with strong experience in Microsoft infrastructure, Active Directory, and VMware virtualization platforms. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and evolving the company's server infrastructure, ensuring security, availability, performance, and business continuity across both physical and virtual environments. This role is focused on Windows Server administration, identity management, virtualization, backup solutions, and infrastructure operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and optimize Windows Server environments and core infrastructure services.
• Manage and support Active Directory, including Domain Controllers, Organizational Units (OUs), Group Policies (GPOs), DNS, DHCP, and authentication services.
• Administer and maintain VMware vSphere/ESXi environments, including virtual machines, clusters, resource allocation, and lifecycle management.
• Monitor and troubleshoot virtualization platforms to ensure performance, availability, and scalability.
• Participate in the management and maintenance of storage infrastructures and disaster recovery solutions.
• Manage server deployment, patching, upgrades, migrations, and decommissioning activities.
• Perform backup and recovery operations and contribute to business continuity initiatives.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls across enterprise systems.
• Implement and maintain security best practices for servers, virtualization platforms, and infrastructure services.
• Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support for server and infrastructure-related incidents.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation, operational procedures, and infrastructure diagrams.
• Collaborate with other IT team members on infrastructure projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve infrastructure reliability, efficiency, and scalability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a System Administrator or Infrastructure Administrator role.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows Server environments.
• Proven experience administering Active Directory, Group Policies (GPO), DNS, DHCP, and identity management services.
• Strong experience with VMware vSphere/ESXi administration, including cluster management, virtual machine lifecycle management, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with storage technologies and virtualization-related best practices.
• Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions (e.g., Veeam Backup & Replication) is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of Microsoft 365, Entra ID (Azure AD), and hybrid identity environments is considered a plus.
• PowerShell scripting and automation skills are highly appreciated.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs, routing, firewall principles).
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
• Ability to manage infrastructure projects and work independently when required.
