Helvetica Partners is seeking a Senior Server & Infrastructure Engineer to ensure performance, security and continuous improvement of the organisation's IT environment across multiple locations in Switzerland.

You will act as a technical reference for server infrastructure, design, implement and maintain server & storage environments, and collaborate with network, security and application teams, as well as external partners.

Qualifikationen

• Proven experience as a Server Engineer or Infrastructure Engineer.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of Windows Server and Linux administration.
• Solid experience with VMware, ESXi, Hyper-V or VDI.
• Experience with server, storage and infrastructure lifecycle management.
• Good understanding of infrastructure security and patch management.
• Experience coordinating with external vendors and IT service providers.

Our client is an established organisation operating across multiple locations in Switzerland and undergoing a period of growth and digital transformation.

To support the continued development and reliability of its IT environment, we are looking for a Senior Server & Infrastructure Engineer to ensure the performance, security and continuous improvement of the organisation's infrastructure.

In this role, you will act as a technical reference for server infrastructure, contributing both to daily operations and to strategic IT projects. You will work closely with network, security and application teams, as well as external service providers and international IT teams.

Your Responsibilities

Server & Infrastructure Management

• Design, implement and maintain server and storage infrastructure
• Ensure the reliability, security and performance of server environments
• Define and maintain infrastructure standards covering Windows Server, Linux, VMware, patch management and virtualization
• Manage server assets and infrastructure lifecycle
• Plan capacity, investments and hardware replacement
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and infrastructure configurations

Infrastructure Projects & Governance

• Gather and prioritise infrastructure requirements from projects and business stakeholders
• Prepare and review technical specifications
• Represent server infrastructure in IT projects and governance meetings
• Contribute to infrastructure and digital transformation initiatives
• Collaborate closely with network, security and application teams

Operations & Support

• Coordinate 3rd level support with international IT teams
• Proactively identify and communicate risks, issues and improvement opportunities
• Ensure effective operational follow-up and continuous improvement
• Manage external infrastructure providers
• Coordinate supplier selection and procurement activities
• Work closely with external IT service providers throughout the infrastructure lifecycle

Your Profile

• Proven experience as a Server Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer or in a similar position
• Strong hands‑on knowledge of Windows Server and/or Linux administration
• Solid experience with VMware, ESXi, Hyper‑V or VDI
• Experience with server, storage and infrastructure lifecycle management
• Good understanding of infrastructure security, patch management and system administration
• Experience working with external vendors and IT service providers
• Experience participating in infrastructure or digital transformation projects
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Structured, organised and solution‑oriented mindset
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• High level of accountability and ownership
• Collaborative and proactive approach
• Fluent in English, with French or German required
