We are seeking a Senior Maintenance Engineer to provide Electrical, Electronic, instrumentation and control engineering support to the Site Infrastructure organization. Do you have experience supervising a team of engineering and technical resources to lead maintenance programs and initiatives? Are you keen to provide support for technically complex maintenance work, conduct technical reviews of work plans, implement engineering changes, and act as a subject matter expert? What will you be doing!
- Supervising a team of engineering and technical resources, and being responsible for goal setting, performance evaluation, disciplinary action, promotion and recruiting engineering and technical resources (internally and externally).
- Working closely with Operations staff and contractors to ensure the maintenance program is in good working order.
- Developing, maintaining and implementing predictive and preventative maintenance programs for the WL waste management facilities.
- Facilitating and documenting the resolution of complex issues.
- Potentially delivering training to staff.
- Producing, updating, and upgrading maintenance documentation such as maintenance procedures and manuals, emergency procedures, safety documents, QA documents and other maintenance-related documents.
- Identifying, investigating, and solving maintenance problems.
- Supporting effective maintenance of the site.
- Providing work coordination support for maintenance activities.
- Providing a review of internal work plans and replacement component documentation.
- Incorporating lessons learned from operating experience into the maintenance program.
- Planning and coordinating process improvements, upgrades, maintenance or repairs.
- Proposing alternatives/improvements to the existing equipment and/or process to optimize the equipment performance.
- Acting as a single point of contact on maintenance activities.
- Reviewing designs, writing and reviewing work plans, generating and reviewing preventive maintenance procedures, and providing field support to Maintainers.
- Performing/coordinating facility walk-downs to improve the preventive maintenance program.
- Optimizing the maintenance program.
- Providing maintenance technical assistance to personnel involved in projects and non-standard tests.
- Ensuring maintenance activities are documented as required.
- Playing a significant role in addressing and upgrading aging system components with state-of-the-art replacements.
- Developing, revising when required, and delivering training on maintenance-related activities.
- Performing on-call duty, if required.
- Assisting in establishing and maintaining technical performance parameters of equipment and rates to meet product specifications.
- Assisting in identifying and procuring replacement material and equipment.
- Supporting efforts to improve work processes and increase maintenance effectiveness.
- Providing support to resolve outstanding procedural requirements to support the maintenance program.
- Supporting Maintainers as a technical resource.
- Interacting effectively with Managers, Engineers, Supervisors, Operators and Skilled Trades.
- Assisting with the predictive maintenance program.
- Assisting with the Master Equipment List initiative.
- Acting as a Technical Specialist in the development of PMs and change processes for PMs.
- Assisting with Lock Out Tag Out /Order To Operate issues.
- Maintaining confidentiality in all matters.
- Participating and maintaining up-to-date safety and operational training offered through the company.
- Assuming personal responsibility and is accountable for maintaining current skills by attending all training required by the site, viewing assigned videos, reading articles and participating in seminars as required.
- Sharing learned knowledge and skills with peers.
- Identifying and reporting any real or potential safety hazards; wearing all safety equipment related to your position as well as participating in all safety-training offered through the facility.
- Adhering to Workplace Safety and health procedures, WHIMIS program; keeping current with practices; working in a prudent and safe manner and informing other employees if they are using unsafe work practices or equipment.
- Other duties as assigned by your manager.
