What will you be doing!
- Providing advice and guidance to project proponents on assessment strategies and requirements.
- Preparing portions of the EIS and/or EA follow-up documentation.
- Preparing and/or reviewing CNSC comments and dispositions on the licence amendment.
- Providing technical reviews of EIS and other technical documents prepared by a third party.
- Preparing responses and materials to support Indigenous engagement activities.
- Presenting public and technical project updates to clients, regulators, Indigenous communities, and other stakeholders.
- Compiling and maintaining WR-1 Project commitments and coordinating, tracking, and reporting their completion.
- Analyzing monitoring data generated by follow-up program activities within a set timeframe to confirm environmental assessment predictions and follow up on deviations from forecasts.
- Participating in field activities such as species at risk surveys, migratory bird assessments, and sample collection.
- Providing oversight on project and operational compliance with regulatory requirements by reviewing contractor submittals, performing site inspections, and evaluating environmental compliance.
- Other duties as assigned by your manager.
What we are looking for:
- Education
- Honours Bachelor's in Science, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or related field from a recognized university or membership in a relevant professional organization.
- Experience
- 5 years in areas such as authoring technical reports, presenting to diverse audiences, interacting with regulatory agencies, and understanding regulations.
- Experience in environmental pathway modelling and assessments is an asset.
- Experience reviewing project plans for compliance.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, and nuclear safety standards.
- Understanding of radioactivity, waste management, and environmental monitoring.
- Interest or experience in Indigenous and stakeholder engagement is highly desirable.
- Security Clearance Eligibility
- Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), requiring 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the US, or the UK.
Working Conditions:
- Four-day work week, starting at 6 am, with ten-hour days.
- Occasional overtime for urgent operational matters.
