Are you a passionate and skilled registered nurse (RN) specializing in wound, ostomy and continence, looking to make a meaningful impact? If so, we want you to join our innovative VON healthcare team as an NSWOC!
As an NSWOC with VON, your specialized skills and knowledge will be leveraged to provide comprehensive wound assessments, ostomy care, and continence management. You may work in the client's home or a clinic, and will work closely with an interdisciplinary team to create personalized care plans that promote healing, comfort, and improved quality of life for our clients. You will help alleviate healthcare system challenges through the NSWOC Power of Three; provision of higher quality care, reduced costs and improved outcomes for patients.
Job Summary: The Registered Nurse with advanced and specialized knowledge and clinical skills in wound, ostomy and continence care who has graduated from a recognized education program is responsible for the provision and management of client and family-centered, evidence-based, efficient nursing care to individuals and families in their homes and communities. The Registered Nurse ensures care is provided within the framework of quality & risk management and the standards and scope of practice set by VON and relevant provincial regulatory bodies.
Working conditions and physical demands: This role requires a detail-oriented approach in a dynamic environment, with physical activity including lifting, carrying (using proper techniques), bending, reaching, kneeling, and other movements that emphasize good body mechanics. Individuals in the role are required to walk, sit, stand, and climb stairs throughout the day, with some tasks requiring fine hand movements.
