Project Engineer (Transmission Lines)
Job summary
A leading utility contractor in Canada is seeking a Project Engineer to support various projects. This role involves planning, coordinating, and delivering high-quality projects related to transmission systems. Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field and have at least 2 years of related experience, particularly in transmission line design. Familiarity with PLS CADD and JD Edwards is preferred.
Qualifications
- 2 years of relevant engineering project experience.
- Experience with transmission line design.
- Demonstrated familiarity with PLS CADD.
Responsibilities
- Support project planning, estimating, and budget preparation.
- Develop material and construction specifications for transmission projects.
- Prepare design packages, material take offs, and procurement requisitions.
- Track material deliveries, inventory, and documentation.
- Coordinate purchase orders, packing slips, and expense submissions.
- Maintain project schedules, progress reports, and quality records.
- Assist with project change orders, including cost and schedule updates.
- Provide technical support to field teams during construction.
- Liaise between project operations and the corporate office to keep information flowing.

Our Transmission group is looking to add a Project Engineer to support various projects across Canada. The successful candidate will work closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers, and other stakeholders to plan, coordinate, and deliver safe, efficient, and high quality projects.
- Support project planning, estimating, and budget preparation
- Develop material and construction specifications for transmission projects
- Prepare design packages, material take offs, and procurement requisitions
- Track material deliveries, inventory, and documentation
- Coordinate purchase orders, packing slips, and expense submissions
- Maintain project schedules, progress reports, and quality records
- Assist with project change orders, including cost and schedule updates
- Provide technical support to field teams during construction
- Liaise between project operations and the corporate office to keep information flowing
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil, or related Engineering field
- 2 years of relevant engineering project experience
- Experience with transmission line design
- Demonstrared familiarity with PLS CADD
- Proven Transmission Line Project experience
- Experience with JD Edwards (or similar ERP systems)
- 8 years of related experience
