Interim Chief Marketing Officer – IMMEDIATE INTERIM OPPORTUNITY. Location: Toronto, ON (remote). Our client, a multi-location Canadian retailer, is urgently seeking an Interim Head of Marketing to conduct a full assessment of the existing marketing and e-commerce function and implement improvements to drive both in-store and online sales. A key member of the senior leadership team, the interim executive will deliver best practices in traditional marketing, e-commerce and digital marketing while providing mentorship and coaching to the team during a time of change.

Reports To: CEO

Duration: 3 – 6 months

• Conduct a full review and evaluation of the entire marketing and e-commerce function, develop a plan to elevate the function and begin to implement improvements
• Oversee and optimize the digital marketing strategy to drive eCommerce growth and customer acquisition across Canada
• Drive SEO, content marketing, and storytelling to inspire and convert shoppers
• Lead media strategy (search, social, display, retargeting) and maximize campaign ROI
• Collaborate with online, media, flyer distribution and creative production teams
• Develop, monitor and manage within annual operating budgets
• Manage CRM, email, and marketing programs to boost retention and repeat purchase rates
• Partner with sales, operations and creative teams to deliver a seamless and engaging customer journey
• Monitor KPIs and analytics to continuously optimize performance and drive decision-making
• Provide leadership, coaching and mentorship to the marketing team

• Significant leadership experience within a retail setting
• 8+ years of marketing leadership experience, including at least three in an e-commerce leadership role
• Proven track record driving online and in-store sales growth
• Deep understanding of omnichannel consumer behavior and product discovery
• Proficient in marketing technologies and platforms
• Strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills
