Junior Ad Representative (Work Study) - Student Work Study job opportunities open to full-time Fanshawe College students who qualify for the Work Study Bursary program.

Temporary Part-time position for Fanshawe College students (May 2025 - August 2025)
Up to 35 hours per week.

This opportunity is supported through The Work Study Employment Program, which is designed to provide work opportunities to Fanshawe College full-time post-secondary or post diploma students with a demonstrated financial need.

• Domestic Students at Fanshawe College must be a full-time registered student and meet financial needs assessment criteria.
• International Students at Fanshawe College must be registered as a full-time student and have a valid study permit and Social Insurance Number.
• Must be in good academic standing according to program requirements.

If approved, the Work Study Employment Program will help Fanshawe Student Union financially to employ students over the fall/winter term.

Summary

The Junior Advertising Representative will assist the Advertising Coordinator with sales and retention of ads in the student handbook, student newspaper, Interrobang, online, and special publications. This position will also be responsible for identifying and contacting potential new clients using cold-calling techniques.

Job Duties

• Sales and retention of ads in the student handbook, student newspaper, Interrobang, online, and special publications.
• Identify and contact potential new clients using cold-calling techniques.
• Maintain assigned client base while developing new accounts.
• Develop relationships with customers.
• Obtain contracts when necessary.
• Ensure accuracy of ads (proofreading and communicating with customers).
• Meet and exceed all sales targets on or before deadlines.
• Filing and maintaining current sales spreadsheets in Excel.
• Other office duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Full-time Fanshawe College student enrolled in Business, Marketing, Advertising or equivalent.
• 1 year direct work experience in marketing and sales preferred.
• Project management, prioritization, multi-tasking, and time management skills to meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Energetic, self-motivated, and results-oriented.
• Proven team player who is both flexible and adaptable.
• Computer literate, including effective working skills of MS Office Suite and Adobe Products.
• Social perceptiveness and adapting to fit client needs, personality, expectation, etc.
