Job Summary :

As an Intermediate Piping Designer, you will play a crucial role in Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) projects. Your responsibilities include collaborating with the VDC and sales teams, interacting with contractors and clients, and leveraging your expertise to produce precise 3D BIM models. This role requires a combination of technical proficiency, project management skills, and excellent communication to ensure successful piping project execution.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Quoting and Estimation :
2. Assist in the quoting and estimating process, presenting quotes to clients in collaboration with the VDC and sales teams.
3. Client Interaction :
4. Liaise with contractors and clients, facilitating project review, kick-off meetings, and other essential project control functions.
5. 3D Modeling :
6. Utilize engineering drawings to create accurate and constructible 3D BIM models.
7. Drawing Preparation :
8. Generate pad and equipment layouts, piping layouts, isometric and spool sheet drawings, including Bills of Materials (BOMs) using AutoPlant, Revit MEP, or AutoCAD-MEP.
9. Quality Assurance :
10. Perform thorough checks on drawings and BOMs to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
11. On-site Presence :
12. Travel to job sites for field measurements, customer interactions, and collaboration with Victaulic sales teams as needed.
13. Project Management :
14. Participate actively in managing the project lifecycle to ensure timely and efficient delivery.
15. Problem Resolution :
16. Identify and report job-related issues or deficiencies to the project supervisor.

Education and Skills :

• Minimum of 4-5 years of drafting or engineering experience is preferred.
• Diploma in Engineering Technology, preferably in Mechanical Engineering.
• Proficiency in AutoPlant, Revit MEP, AutoCAD-MEP, and intermediate computer skills.
• Background in Power, Petrochemical, HVAC, or Municipal Piping is advantageous.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.

Salary : $80,000 - $90,000 annually
