What you’ll do (the highlights)

As a direct support professional, you will be part of a team and the go-to person for the people living in one of our community homes.

What that looks like:

  • Receiving support and guidance from your location supervisor.
  • Making sure the environment is clean, safe, and comfortable.
  • Providing personal hygiene, grocery shopping, housekeeping, meal preparation and socialization.
  • Organizing the day and keeping accurate records are essential duties.
  • Encouraging and supporting people at DASCH to engage in community activities based on their likes and abilities.
  • Advocating for people at DASCH when needed, keeping their best interests in mind..
  • Being a role model to people living at DASCH as you support their independence with respect and care.

What you bring (and why you’ll thrive here)

DASCH team members are special. They have a mix of the right personal characteristics and specific skills for their work.

  • Completed Grade 10 in Canada, or you have achieved Level 6 on the Canadian Language Benchmark Assessment.
  • A Class 5 Manitoba Driver’s License (Intermediate Stage acceptable)
  • Have a smart device with internet access.
  • Experience with intellectual disabilities or a certificate in Disability and Community Support, Health Care Aide, or a related field is helpful.

Pay + perks (how we support you)

  • Salary: $18.40 - $20.00 per hour, depending on your experience and education.
  • Comprehensive employer-paid training.
  • Family health, dental, vision and life coverage. (eligible after 20 permanent work hours). Opportunity to gain permanent hours after term is complete.
  • Employee and family assistance program
  • Optional RRSP and TFSA plans.
  • Paid mileage.
