Job summary

Federal Signal Corporation is seeking a Warehouse/Yard Handler to manage the flow of products in and out of the warehouse, shop, and yard, meeting productivity, quality, and safety expectations while ensuring deadlines and procedures are maintained.

Responsibilities include operating forklifts, delivering with trucks, receiving shipments, packing orders, maintaining inventory, and adhering to safety procedures to keep a clean and organized work environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of warehouse/yard related experience.
• Current Forklift certification with a minimum of 5 years' experience.
• Crane and rigging certification not required but would be an asset.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment to move, stack, or store products.
• Receive shipments and verify contents against orders or packing slips.
• Prepare and package orders; label and track packages using inventory systems.
• Inspect and report damage; coordinate with vendors or carriers to resolve issues.
• Maintain accurate inventory and organize shipping/receiving activities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operating forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipmentrequiredto move, stack, or storeproduct
• Deliverywith pick-uptrucksand the use of aflat-decktrailer
• Receiving incoming shipments and verifying the contents against the purchase orders or packing slips
• Preparing and packaging orders;Labeling and tracking packages,products, or equipment, using inventory management systems
• Inspecting and reporting any damage or discrepancies in shipments, and working with vendors or carriers to resolveissues
• Maintaining organization andaccurateinventory levels, shipping/receiving activities, and other data related to the movement ofgoods
• Ensure parts and equipment are pickedin a timely mannerfor all internal and externalorders
• Vehicle management and maintenance
• Creating shipping crates
• Performing snow removal, spreading ice melt, and cutting the grass
• Ensuring compliance with safety and security procedures
• Assistwith equipment testing, ensuring proper paperwork iscompleted
• Maintain good housekeeping standards in shared spaces, workbaysandyardstomaintaina clean, safe, and organized workenvironment
• Retrieving and delivering partsand consumablesfrom the warehouse at designated times for all departments
• Garbage picking anddisposal
• Ensure all consumables are filled in allbays
• Follow all established processes and procedures; follow safe workprocedures
• Other duties asrequested

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
