Job summary

Cooper Equipment Rentals in Vancouver, BC is seeking customer-oriented, motivated individuals to join our team. This role involves loading and unloading equipment, setting up fences, organizing the yard, inventory checks, and operating a forklift in a busy rental yard.

You must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license and be able to lift about 50 lbs. Overtime, outdoor work year-round, and a safety-minded culture are expected.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 5 driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs.
• Forklift license or experience operating forklifts is a definite asset.
• Comfortable working outdoors year-round and willing to overtime when required.
• Mechanical aptitude is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload equipment/material, secure loads for transport.
• Set up and dismantle fence on customers’ sites.
• Organize equipment/material in yard and warehouse.
• Assist with inventory control.
• Operate forklift.
• Maintain clean equipment yard and wash bay area; wash equipment.
• Check equipment for damage and report issues.
• Assist with deliveries when needed.
• Follow health and safety policies and communicate with team.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Load and unload equipment/material, secure loaded fence/edge protection equipment for transport.
• Set up and dismantle fence on customers’ sites.
• Organize equipment/material in the yard and warehouse.
• Assist with inventory control.
• Operate forklift.
• Maintain a clean and organized equipment yard and wash bay area. Wash equipment using pressure washers and other tools.
• Check equipment for damage when returned to the yard, report damage and fill out service tags for all returned equipment.
• Always willing to offer a helping hand with your co-workers.
• Assist with deliveries if needed.
• Follow all health and safety policies. Communicate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow.
• Assist with inventory control.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

• Valid Class 5 driver’s license required, with a clean or satisfactory driver’s abstract (no more than 3 demerit points). You’ll be required to provide a copy of your updated driver’s abstract upon request.
• Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods. Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs.
• Forklift license or experience operating forklifts and/or other construction equipment is a definite asset.
• Must be comfortable with working outdoors year-round. Available and willing to work overtime when required.
• Mechanical aptitude and/or previous experience operating equipment is an asset.
• Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Highly adaptable and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-starter, very customer-service oriented and works well in a team environment.
• Curiosity to learn new things & understand more about construction equipment and the rental industry.
• Comfortable with computers/technology (for filling out inspections, inventory management, etc.)
