Job summary

Cooper Equipment Rentals Limited is hiring for a hands-on role in Vancouver, BC. The position requires loading, unloading, yard organization, inventory assistance, and forklift operation in an outdoor setting year-round. Overtime may be available.

Applicants must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean abstract, the ability to lift around 50 lbs, and comfort working outdoors. Training and development opportunities are provided by a safety-minded employer.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 5 driver’s license required, with a clean or satisfactory driver’s abstract (no more than 3 demerit points).
• Forklift license or experience operating forklifts is a definite asset.
• Good physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods.

What You’ll Be Doing Duties and Responsibilities:

• Load and unload equipment/material, secure loaded fence/edge protection equipment for transport.
• Set up and dismantle fence on customers’ sites.
• Organize equipment/material in the yard and warehouse.
• Assist with inventory control.
• Operate forklift.
• Maintain a clean and organized equipment yard and wash bay area.
• Wash equipment using pressure washers and other tools.
• Check equipment for damage when returned to the yard, report damage and fill out service tags for all returned equipment.
• Always willing to offer a helping hand with your co-workers.
• Assist with deliveries if needed.
• Follow all health and safety policies.
• Communicate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow.
• Assist with inventory control.

What You’ll Bring to the Team Qualifications and Requirements:

• Valid Class 5 driver’s license required, with a clean or satisfactory driver’s abstract (no more than 3 demerit points).
• You’ll be required to provide a copy of your updated driver’s abstract upon request.
• Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods.
• Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs.
• Forklift license or experience operating forklifts and/or other construction equipment is a definite asset.
• Must be comfortable with working outdoors year-round.
• Available and willing to work overtime when required.
• Mechanical aptitude and/or previous experience operating equipment is an asset.
• Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Highly adaptable and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-starter, very customer-service oriented and works well in a team environment.
• Curiosity to learn new things & understand more about construction equipment and the rental industry.
• Comfortable with computers/technology (for filling out inspections, inventory management, etc.)
