Responsibilities for a Workers' Compensation Claims Supervisor include but are not limited to:

  • Analyze and process complex or technically difficult workers' compensation claims to determine benefits due and provide guidance to examiners.
  • Manage claims through well-developed action plans to an appropriate and timely resolution, ensuring ongoing adjudication within service expectations and client requirements.
  • Approve and negotiate settlement of claims within designated authority, including calculating and assigning timely and appropriate reserves.
  • Manage the litigation process and coordinate vendor referrals for additional investigation or litigation management.

Candidates for Workers' Compensation Claims Supervisor must meet the following requirements to be considered:

  • Five (5) years of claims management experience in California Workers' Compensation, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have SIP Certification.
  • Subject matter expert in appropriate insurance principles and laws for the line-of-business, including recoveries, offsets, deductions, and cost containment principles.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, presentation, analytical, and negotiation skills.
