Similkameen Forest Products Ltd. is seeking a Woodlands Administrator to join our Princeton office.

Based in Princeton and reporting to the Silviculture Manager, the role provides administrative and technical support to the Silviculture, Planning, and Logging teams. You will collaborate with Indigenous communities and a broad range of stakeholders to support sustainable forest management and to help manage operations across the Nicola, Similkameen, and Okanagan regions, contributing to safety,

Qualifications

  • Two or more years of relevant administrative, forestry, or natural resource sector experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Power BI.
  • Experience with ArcGIS and forestry systems such as LRM, Phoenix, LIMS, RESULTS, or Silvacom/HP is an asset.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to develop effective working relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and willingness to act as a role model in day-to-day responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Complete digital mapping to support Woodlands operations.
  • Maintain silviculture records and complete required electronic submissions to government.
  • Assist with the preparation and administration of contracts.
  • Provide office management support, including accounting, data analysis, meeting minutes, and event coordination.
  • Support job fairs and other activities involving interaction with the public.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with Indigenous communities, government agencies, contractors, stakeholders, and the public.
  • Actively participate in safety and environmental reporting and related management processes.
  • Participate in developmental training opportunities to gain exposure to all aspects of the business.
  • Perform other related administrative and organizational duties as required.

Are you ready to take your forestry career to the next level? Similkameen Forest Products Ltd. is on the lookout for a passionate and driven Woodlands Administrator to join our vibrant team in Princeton, BC. Based in the Princeton office and reporting to the Silviculture Manager, this role provides administrative and technical support to the Silviculture, Planning, and Logging departments. This role offers the chance to be part of a professional and empowered team managing forestry operations across the stunning Nicola, Similkameen, and Okanagan regions of Southern British Columbia.


You will work alongside a team of dedicated professionals engaged in a broad range of forest management activities, providing opportunities to expand your knowledge, experience, and professional skill set. You will also collaborate with Indigenous communities and a variety of stakeholders to support sustainable and responsible forest management. Together, the Woodlands team supplies approximately 1.0 million m³ of wood annually to the Similkameen Forest Products sawmill and other wood-using facilities throughout the region.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

SALARY RANGE:

We offer a competitive compensation package based on your skills and experience. The expected base salary range for this position is $65,000 to $78,000 per year.
