Job summary

Tolko is seeking a Woodlands Supervisor - Indigenous Relations to strengthen partnerships with Indigenous communities and support responsible access to land in Vernon or Kamloops, BC. You will work with the Southern Interior Woodlands Team to shape forestry relations and sustainable practices.

Ideal candidates have strong relationship-building skills, at least 5 years in forestry/woodlands/Indigenous relations, and a track record of safety and collaboration. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience building and maintaining respectful, productive relationships with Indigenous communities.
• Minimum of 5 years’ related forestry, woodlands or Indigenous relations experience.
• Commitment to safety and compliance with legislation, regulations and policies.
• Ability to establish and maintain relationships with contractors, government agencies and internal teams.

Woodlands Supervisor - Indigenous Relations

Vernon or Kamloops, British Columbia

We're looking for a Woodlands Supervisor to join our Southern Interior Woodlands Team. You'll be at the center of some of the most important relationships shaping B.C. forestry by working directly with First Nations and woodlands team to build practical solutions, strengthen partnerships and support responsible access to the land. You may come from Forestry, Economic development, Natural resources, Indigenous relations, or related fields. What matters most is your ability to build meaningful, trusted relationships, navigate complex issues and find solutions. We're looking for a Woodlands Supervisor - Indigenous Relations to join our Southern Interior Woodlands Division. The Southern Interior Woodlands Team manages Tolko's tenure and fibre supply in the Southern Interior of British Columbia, covering an area of 953,447 hectares. We are dedicated to sustaining these areas to the benefit of all who live and work there. Successful candidate can be based in either the Vernon or Kamloops area.

Our ideal candidate has the following assets:

• Demonstrated experience building andmaintainingrespectful, productive relationships with Indigenous communities, including engagement, consultation, partnershipdevelopmentand collaboration related to forestry, resourcemanagementor land-based activities.
• A minimum of 5 years’related forestry,woodlandsor Indigenous relations experience.
• A proven commitment to safetyand the ability to recognize andeliminatehazards while ensuring compliance with legislation,regulationsand company policies.
• Ability toestablishand maintain successful relationshipswith contractors, government agencies, communitypartnersand internal teams; contract negotiation experience is an asset.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, negotiation,computerand analytical skills, with sound knowledge of forestry equipment capabilities and productivity.
• Ability to manage multiple projectsand work collaboratively in a team environment.
• A valid driver’s licensewith no restrictions.
