Job summary

Corporation of the County of Dufferin is seeking Winter Maintenance staff in Mono, Ontario. The role involves road patrols, responding to emergencies, and maintaining winter safety across County roads.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
• First Aid training.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a winter maintenance program.
• Knowledge of maintenance best practices.
• Knowledge of OH&S legislation and WHMIS regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform road patrols of routine and representative routes under Ontario standards.
• Respond to emergency calls; support road closures, inspections and clean up after collisions.
• Monitor and record road conditions and review forecast information.
• Dispatch snowplow equipment and assign routes to workers.
• Close roads as requested by authorities due to weather or incidents.
• Update road conditions and closures on the County website.
• Inspect traffic lights and signs; manage debris removal and safety hazards.
