Winter Road Maintenance Operator

Job summary

Town of Caledon is seeking an enthusiastic labourer to support winter road maintenance and general road work in Caledon, Ontario. The role requires Grade 12 or equivalent, and a valid DZ and/or AZ license with up to 3 demerits; experience with heavy equipment and snow equipment under the Ontario Highway Traffic Act is preferred.

You will lift up to 50 lbs, work in adverse weather, and contribute to a safe, team-based workforce. The position pays $31.26 per hour based on a 40-hour week.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 completion or equivalent.
• Valid DZ and/or AZ driver's license in good standing with no more than 3 demerit points.
• Experience operating heavy equipment and snow equipment under the Ontario Highway Traffic Act.

Responsibilities

• Participate in winter road maintenance programs, including plowing, sanding, salting, etc.
• Operate and maintain heavy equipment under legislated requirements.
• Record road conditions and report to Area Supervisor.
