Job summary

Norfolk County in Ontario is seeking a Night Truck Driver - Winter Control to keep roads safe during winter. You will operate tandem/single axle dump trucks with plow and wing, perform salting, anti-icing and roadside maintenance, and support municipal operations across multiple locations.

Requirements include a Grade 12 education, a valid Ontario DZ license, 1–2 years of related experience and knowledge of maintenance standards.

Qualifications

• High school Diploma or Grade 12 graduation.
• Valid Ontario “DZ” driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Over one year up to two years related experience.
• Experience with pre-wet systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct road way and road allowance inspections as required.
• Repair potholes, retaining walls, guide rails and wash outs.
• Undertake asphalt padding, gravel resurfacing, tar and chip resurfacing, shoulder gravel resurfacing and parking lot maintenance.
• Undertake repair, removal, replacement and installation of catch basins, storm sewers, ditches, culverts, curb and gutters, sidewalks and signs.
• Operate trucks with plow/wing and perform winter maintenance including anti-icing and salting.
• Set up/teardown traffic control measures and perform flag person/pilot truck operations.
