Russel Metals is seeking a motivated Wheelabrator Operator for the McCabe Steel Branch in Stoney Creek. The role focuses on safe operation of a Wheelabrator machine, quality product delivery, and adherence to pre-start inspections and finished work orders.

The position offers a rotating shift pattern and mandatory safety training. Applicants should have Grade 12 or equivalent, be able to lift heavy items, and commit to shift work.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job Summary

Please note - our work environment is safety sensitive and will require the successful applicant to undergo a pre-employment medical and drug evaluation.

Hours of Work

Rotating every 2 weeks: Days (7am-3pm) / Afternoons (3pm-11pm)

Job Responsibilities

• Ability to learn to operate a Wheelabrator machine in a safe and satisfactory manner
• Able to complete paperwork related to pre-start inspections and finished work orders
• Able to operate a forklift and overhead crane (in house training and certification is provided if not presently certified)
• Ensuring safe procedures are followed while performing job responsibilities
• Complying with workplace policies and procedures (operational and health and safety)
