Job summary

Russel Metals in Nisku, AB is seeking a Warehouse Person to join our team. You’ll operate overhead cranes and forklifts, pick and package material to customer specifications, and help load/unload trucks.

The role requires safety-conscious work, ability to lift heavy loads, and accuracy in measurements. The organization offers competitive pay, profit sharing, a pension plan, and educational reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent; experience in the industry considered.
• Ability to work shift work (Days, Afternoons, or Nights).
• 2–3 years overhead crane experience preferred.
• Forklift experience and ability to move heavy loads.
• Good knowledge of math and measurements.
• Personal Protective Equipment is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Operate overhead crane and forklift.
• Pick and package material according to customer specifications.
• Operate saw equipment and other machinery.
• Load and unload trucks.
• Perform daily preventative maintenance.
• Ensure quality customer service and safe work practices.
• Able to perform some heavy lifting (at least 50 lbs).
• Follow workplace policies and health and safety procedures.

Russel Metals Inc. is currently seeking a Warehouse Person for our Nisku, AB location (3855 13th St.).

Please note - our work environment is safety sensitive and will require the successful applicant to undergo a pre-employment medical and drug evaluation.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Running overhead crane and forklift
• Picking and packaging material according to customer specifications
• Operation of saw equipment and various other machinery types
• Loading and unloading trucks
• Performing daily preventative maintenance
• Ensuring quality customer service
• Able to perform some heavy lifting
• Comply with workplace policies and procedures (operational, quality and health and safety)

Requirements:

• Grade 12 or equivalent (those with experience in the industry will also be given consideration)
• Able to work shift work. (Days, Afternoons, or Nights as required)
• 2–3 years of overhead crane experience is preferred.
• Experience safely handling and moving beam and tubing products is considered a strong asset.
• Previous forklift experience is considered an asset.
• Able to perform some heavy lifting (at least 50 lbs.), bending over to hook up loads, standing for periods of time, and climbing
• Good knowledge of math and measurements
• Personal Protective Equipment is mandatory
• Self-motivated, results oriented

Hourly Rate: $34.71
