Job summary

Chartwell Retirement Residences is seeking a Lifestyle and Programs Supervisor to coordinate daily wellness programs reflecting residents' interests. You’ll guide activity aides, volunteers, and partners to deliver engaging activities while ensuring safety and accessibility across six dimensions of wellness.

You’ll build relationships with residents, communicate resources, and contribute to an inclusive culture that supports personal growth and meaningful living for seniors in our communities.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in recreation, gerontology, social work or relevant experience.
• One to three years in retirement living, long-term care, or healthcare.
• Experience coordinating programs and guiding employees or volunteers.
• Understanding aging and respect for residents’ backgrounds, interests, and abilities.
• Strong planning, communication, service, computer, and community-relations skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate programs across the six dimensions of wellness.
• Prepare program calendars, newsletters, events, outings, and resident communications.
• Assign work and guide, orient, and train activity aides and volunteers.
• Build resident relationships, respond to concerns, and elevate significant issues.
• Coordinate volunteers and community partners to expand program opportunities.
• Monitor program safety, participation, quality, risks, and improvement opportunities.
