Job summary

Chartwell Retirement Residences is seeking an Activity Aide to enrich the lives of older adults through engaging programs and services. You will create meaningful experiences that support residents’ well-being, bringing creativity, compassion, and energy to a vibrant community.

You will help plan activities, encourage participation, and monitor engagement while ensuring a safe, inclusive space. Post-secondary recreation/gerontology education and strong communication are valued.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service with seniors is preferred.
• Post-secondary education in recreation, gerontology, social work, or equivalent experience is required.
• Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver programs that support all dimensions of wellness.
• Encourage residents to participate in daily activities and events.
• Monitor and record participation and engagement.
• Maintain a safe, welcoming activity space.
• Prepare calendars, posters, and newsletters for programs.
