Job summary

The City of Kelowna is seeking a Health and Wellness Advisor to support disability management, workplace accommodations, and return-to-work planning. You will serve as a trusted advisor for assigned client groups, guiding processes across STD, LTD, sick leave, and WorkSafeBC claims with a focus on timely, safe outcomes.

Using expert judgment, you will ensure compliance with policies, collective agreements, and legislation while mitigating organizational risk and contributing to a healthy,

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree in Human Resources, Disability Management, Business Administration, Safety, Health Sciences, or a related field.
• Working knowledge of WorkSafeBC, Human Rights and Occupational Health & Safety legislation and related provisions.
• Demonstrated experience in disability management and collective agreement application.
• Professional designation such as CRTWC, CPHR or CDMP is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Disability management and leave administration, advising on processes and program requirements.
• Coordinate WorkSafeBC claims and return-to-work planning with stakeholders.
• Coordinate accommodations and stay-at-work opportunities for medical absences.
• Support HR initiatives and contribute to policy improvement.
• Maintain accurate records and liaise with payroll and benefit providers.
• Provide guidance to leaders on compliance and program delivery.
