Job summary

The District of Saanich is seeking an HR Specialist – Disability Management to provide disability case management and advisory services within a complex, unionized municipal environment. Reporting to the Manager, Employee & Labour Relations & Operations, you will coordinate return-to-work plans and assist with benefits administration.

The role requires a university degree and 3–5 years of disability management experience; professional designations are assets.

Qualifications

• University degree in a related field and 3–5 years of disability case management and benefits administration experience.
• Knowledge of disability-management practices, benefits administration, sick leave, and duty to accommodate.
• Strong consulting, analytical, problem-solving, communication, conflict-resolution, and confidentiality skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide disability case management and related advisory services in a unionized municipal environment.
• Coordinate early and safe return-to-work programs and assist with benefits administration and eligibility.
• Manage leave, accommodation, and stay-at-work planning while coordinating with stakeholders.
• Support program administration, reporting, training, and collective bargaining activities as required.
