Position Profile

In alignment with Unity Health Toronto’s People success factor, the Wellness Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of the development and execution of a creative corporate Wellness and Health Promotion program with the goal of enhancing staff health and well-being while improving the overall health of the workplace. Please note this is a network-wide position and the successful candidate will be assigned to work as needed across our three sites: St. Michael's Hospital, St. Joseph's Health Centre and Providence Healthcare.

Main Responsibilities

  • Initiate, develop, implement and evaluate a corporate needs/risk assessments
  • Conduct statistical data analyses related to wellness
  • Consult with other organizations to gather information on best practices, program successes, and lessons learned

Wellness and Health Promotion Programs and Initiatives

  • Plan, coordinate, execute and evaluate wellness programs and initiatives across Unity Health
  • Determine required resources, key offerings, delivery mechanism and marketing strategy
  • Develop business cases for program initiatives and write proposals for funding.
  • Prepare and obtain cost estimates and track the financial aspects and associated costs e.g. payments, fees
  • Develop and apply metrics to assess the impact of the programs and initiatives
  • Gather and report statistical information to management
  • Analyze data for trends and cost benefit analysis to support recommendations and opportunities for improvement
  • Prepare reports evaluating wellness programs and participant satisfaction

Wellness Strategy, Education and Training

  • Serve as the lead of the corporate Wellness Committee
  • Actively recruits committee membership and fosters collaborative planning and teamwork
  • Develop and implement a corporate wellness strategy including program goals, wellness programs, initiatives, resources and metrics for evaluating outcomes
  • Provide educational and information forums and resources accessible to staff on all shifts

Administration, Communication and Documentation

  • Promote and develop proactive and positive relationships
  • Prepare and maintain records and databases for all wellness and health promotion programs and initiatives

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate Degree with Workplace Wellness and Health Promotion Diploma required. Equivalent Combination of Education and Work Experience may be considered.
  • A minimum of 1-3 years Wellness Program development experience required.
  • General computer skills including internet, email and accurate typing of 30 words per minute are required.
  • Intermediate level skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving ability required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated history of interprofessional collaboration and a customer service focus.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize tasks and effectively manage one’s time in a fast-paced deadline driven environment.
  • Satisfactory Attendance Record.

This contract is temporary full time for 18 months.
