GFL - Sewer Technologies Division in Canada is seeking a skilled Millwright/Welder to support operations across machinery, heavy equipment, and facility infrastructure. The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and hands-on fabrication and maintenance.

The ideal candidate holds CWB/Red Seal or equivalent, with proven weld and millwright experience, blueprint reading, and a strong safety mindset to minimize downtime and ensure equipment longevity.

Qualifications

• Welding & fabrication skills with SMAW, GMAW, GTAW processes.
• Experience performing millwright tasks and machinery maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Welding & fabrication on various metals and equipment.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy machinery, hydraulics, pneumatics, and assemblies.
• Align, assemble, install, and dismantle industrial machinery and components.
• Execute preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
• Adhere to LOTO and PPE protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

• Welding & Fabrication: Perform high-quality structural welding, repairs, and custom metal fabrication using SMAW (Stick), GMAW (MIG), and GTAW (TIG) processes on various metals and industrial equipment.
• Mechanical Maintenance: Inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy machinery, hydraulic systems, pneumatic equipment, and mechanical assemblies.
• Millwright Duties: Align, assemble, install, and dismantle industrial machinery, pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, and structural steel components.
• Preventive Maintenance: Execute routine preventive maintenance schedules to minimize operational downtime and extend equipment life.
• Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to all safety policies, standard operating procedures, lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) protocols, and personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines.

Qualifications:

• CWB / Red Seal Welder Certification or equivalent journey-level experience.
• Proven experience performing millwright tasks, mechanical troubleshooting, and machinery maintenance.
• Proficiency in reading welding blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical schematics.
• Strong problem-solving skills, hands-on mechanical aptitude, and an uncompromised commitment to workplace safety.
• Valid driver's license and ability to perform physical tasks required in an industrial yard or shop environment.
