Job summary

MT Talent Solutions Inc. is seeking a Licensed Millwright for a highly automated heavy industrial production facility in Ontario. The role requires 5+ years of maintenance experience, 433A Millwright certification or 4th year apprenticeship, and the ability to read blueprints and troubleshoot PLC systems.

You will work in a large team of 40+ maintenance professionals, on continental shifts, with full benefits, tool allowances, and an emphasis on safety and quality maintenance practices.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on maintenance experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • 433A Licensed Millwright or 4th Year Apprentice; Red Seal is an advantage.
  • Forklift license or experience with willingness to become certified
  • Overhead Crane Operator license or experience with willingness to become certified
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery including PLC troubleshooting
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints/drawings
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and evolving environment
  • Strong oral and written communication and teamwork skills
  • Physically demanding environment (lifting, moving materials, ladders, etc.)
  • Willingness to learn, curious, positive attitude, timely execution
  • Reliable with good attendance
  • Computer proficiency: MS Office, CMMS
  • Health and safety conscious and compliant with policies
  • Attention to detail, well organized, multitask
  • Experience with various hand and power tools; welding/fabrication is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine procedures.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical equipment failures with effective corrective actions.
  • Analyze test results, machine errors, and operator feedback to identify issues.
  • Repair, replace, and adjust defective machinery components.
  • Disassemble and reassemble machinery for inspections and overhauls.
  • Operate repaired machinery to verify functionality and compliance.
  • Operate machine shop equipment to fabricate/modify parts as needed.
  • Assemble and install machinery using hand/power tools and welding equipment.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance for safe operation of equipment.
  • Operate lifting equipment as required.
  • Identify and report equipment non-conformances and safety concerns.
  • Maintain detailed CMMS records and work orders.

Location: Utopia, ON (Bradford/Newmarket area)

Reports to: Maintenance Manager

Industry: Heavy Industrial Manufacturing

Hours: Continental rotation 5 am – 5:30 pm and 5:30 pm – 5:00 am

Here’s what you will do:
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine appropriate work procedures.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical equipment failures, implementing effective corrective actions.
  • Analyze test results, machine error messages, and operator feedback to accurately identify equipment issues.
  • Repair, replace, and adjust defective or malfunctioning machinery components.
  • Disassemble and reassemble machinery and equipment to facilitate inspections, repairs, overhauls, and maintenance.
  • Operate newly repaired machinery and equipment to verify proper functionality and ensure repairs meet operational requirements.
  • Operate machine shop equipment, including grinders, drill presses, and saws, to fabricate or modify parts required for maintenance, overhauls, and equipment setup.
  • Assemble and install machinery and equipment using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance to maintain the safe and reliable operation of industrial production and processing equipment.
  • Operate lifting equipment as required to safely complete maintenance and repair activities.
  • Identify and report equipment non-conformances, safety concerns, and other irregularities to the Maintenance Manager.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate maintenance records, work orders, and documentation using the company’s computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).

  • 5+ years of hands-on Maintenance experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • 433A Licensed Millwright or 4th Year Apprentice. Red Seal Millwright is an advantage.

  • Experience using a variety of hand and power tools. Welding or fabrication experience is an asset.
