Job summary

West Fraser's Pacific Inland Resources division in Smithers, BC is seeking a Certified Welder for a full-time, on-site role. You will maintain and repair hydraulic and mechanical systems, read blueprints, and perform preventative maintenance in a manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate holds a valid Journeyperson Welding Certification with 3+ years in an industrial setting, can work independently, and demonstrates strong organizational skills and a bias toward cost-saving improvements.

Qualifications

  • Valid Journeyperson Welding Certification.
  • 3+ years of experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work independently without constant supervision.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to recognize opportunities for improvements and cost savings.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe work environment.
  • Ensure reliable and consistent operation of equipment.
  • Perform maintenance on pumps, conveyors, compressors, mechanical systems, rollers, chains, bearings and hydraulic equipment.
  • Undertake preventative maintenance activities on equipment.
  • Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to repair equipment.
  • Operate hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery and parts during assembly, installation, setup and repair activities.
  • Repair and assemble hydraulic equipment and cylinders.
  • Verify and document completed repairs.

You'll Do
  • Maintain a safe work environment.
  • Ensure reliable and consistent operation of equipment.
  • Perform maintenance on pumps, conveyors, compressors, mechanical systems, rollers, chains, bearings and hydraulic equipment involved in the manufacturing process.

You Have

Compensation Package
