Qualifications

  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision and strong planning.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain industrial mobile equipment used in lumber manufacturing.
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical issues using manuals and schematics.
  • Complete preventive maintenance and repairs safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain high standards of service to support safe and reliable production.
  • Organize and plan work with limited supervision.
  • Work a flexible schedule that may include day, evening and weekend shifts.

West Fraser offers a range of exciting career opportunities for individualsseekingchallenging and rewarding careers. Our Pacific Inland Resources Division in Smithers, BC, is currently recruiting for a fully certified Heavy Duty Mechanic. Third-year apprentices will also be considered.

This is a challenging,diverseand exciting opportunity to join our Mobile Shop team. You will apply your technical skills and knowledge to support the safe and efficient operation of mobile equipment used in lumber manufacturing.

You'llDo:

  • Repair andmaintainindustrial mobile equipment, including log loaders, wheel loaders, forklifts and other equipment used in lumber manufacturing.
  • Diagnose mechanical,hydraulicand electrical issues using manuals and schematics.
  • Complete preventive maintenance and repairs safely and efficiently.
  • Maintainhigh standardsof service to support safe and reliable production.
  • Organize and plan work independently with limited supervision.
  • Work a flexible schedule that may include day,eveningand weekend shifts.

You Have:

The following are strong assets:

  • Experience working in a fleet shop.
  • Experience with Cummins and Caterpillar engines.
  • A strong electrical background.

Compensation Package:

The hourly pay rate for this position may vary depending on experience,educationand location.
