Job summary

West Fraser is recruiting a Millwright Certified for a hands-on maintenance role in Alberta, Blue Ridge area. You will maintain pumps, conveyors, and hydraulic systems, read blueprints, and supervise contractors while ensuring safe, efficient operation.

The position offers relocation support and a chance to contribute to a large, sustainable timber production network across multiple locations.

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid Inter-Provincial or Provincial Journeyperson Millwright certification, or be enrolled in the 4th year of Millwrighting.
  • Willingness to learn PDM programs and take reliability training.
  • Ability to read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings for repairs.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance of pumps, conveyors, compressors, mechanical systems, rollers & chains, bearings and hydraulics in the manufacturing process.
  • Cost management and contractor supervision.
  • Use of Maximo and CMMS programs; repair documentation and verification.

Job description

West Fraser offers a range of exciting career opportunities for individuals seeking challenging and rewarding careers. Ranger Board is currently recruiting for a Millwright Certified position.

You'll Do
  • Maintenance of pumps, conveyors, compressors, mechanical systems, rollers & chains, bearings, and hydraulics involved in the manufacturing process.
  • Cost management.
  • Contractor supervision.
  • Use of Maximo and CMMS programs.
  • Willingness to learn PDM programs and take reliability training.
  • Undertake preventative maintenance program for equipment.
  • Read blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to repair equipment.
  • Operate hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery and parts during the assembly, installation, set-up and repair of equipment and machinery.
  • Work in manlifts with the use of fall protection equipment.
  • Repair and assemble hydraulic equipment and cylinders.
  • Verify and document repairs made.
  • Work in a safe manner using proper PPE.
You Have
  • A valid Inter-Provincial or Provincial Journeyperson Millwright certification, or a Millwrighting Apprentice preparing to enroll in their 4th year
  • Mechanical aptitude; excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work closely with other trades and employeess
  • Commitment to working safely and creating a safe workplace
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexible schedule in order to work days, nights and/or weekend shifts
Compensation Package
  • The hourly pay rate for this position may vary depending on experience, education, and location.
