Job summary

Toromont Cat in Dartmouth is seeking a Field Welder to join our Service department, providing expertise to maintain, repair and fabricate parts and structures in the field.

You will work safely with Caterpillar equipment, fabricate from drawings, uphold quality within time standards, and build strong customer relations across Eastern Canada. This on-site role offers flexible schedules and a total rewards package.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education with a Welder Certificate in GMAW, SMAW and FCAW.
• Experience as a certified machinist for diesel or heavy equipment is also acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviours at all times.
• Operate electric, acetylene and semi-automatic welding and automatic burning equipment.
• Fabricate structures from drawings or sketches.
• Maintain quality workmanship to repair Caterpillar equipment within the established time standards out in the field.
• Restore damaged steel and cast iron components by welding, dissembling and assembling relative components.
• Maintain an inventory of materials used for fabrication.
• Maintain and build strong customer relations.

Job description

Toromont Cat is looking for a Field Welder to join our team in Dartmouth! Field Welder plays an important role in our Service department providing technical expertise to ensure superior customer service in the maintenance, repair and fabrication of parts and structures in our shop.

Compensation

$39.73 The listed wage is just one component of our total rewards package, and eligibility to additional premiums may be available.

Must-haves for this role:

• Post‑secondary education with a Welder Certificate in GMAW, SMAW and FCAW and/or experienced/Certified Machinist for Diesel or Heavy Equipment
