Job summary

Toromont Cat is hiring a Field Welder in Dartmouth, NS. The role involves safe welding, fabricating from drawings, and repairing Caterpillar equipment in field settings across Eastern Canada.

You will manage welding tasks with various processes and maintain fabrication materials while building strong customer relations. Successful candidates hold a Welder Certificate in GMAW/SMAW/FCAW or equivalent machining credentials and will join a team focused on safety, quality, and continuous learning

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education with a Welder Certificate in GMAW, SMAW and FCAW.
• Experienced/Certified Machinist for Diesel or Heavy Equipment

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviours at all times, in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policies, Programs and initiatives
• Operate electric, acetylene and semi-automatic welding and automatic burning equipment effectively and efficiently
• Fabricate structures from drawings or sketches
• Maintain quality workmanship to repair Caterpillar equipment within the established time standards out in the field
• Restore damaged steel and cast iron components by welding, dissembling and assembling relative components
• Maintain an inventory of materials used for fabrication
• Maintain and build strong customer relations
